Two lustrous elongated drops of black coral are suspended below round 14 karat gold post earrings. Black coral is much rarer than other varieties of coral, and many black coral species are native to the oceans surrounding the Hawaiian islands (it happens to be Hawaii’s official state gemstone, as well.) Strict harvest guidelines protect this resource from over-farming. These elegant torpedo shaped earring drops are carved and polished to a nice luster. Earrings are complete with a pair of 14k gold friction backs. As someone’s mother would say, “black goes with everything.”
